Grand Avenue Development Action Items
This is a message from neighbor Linda Reeder regarding the need for appropriately-scaled development along the Grand Avenue corridor. She can be reached at lcre...@sbcglobal.net with questions. Here are four updates:

1) TODAY in Wooster Square Park, from 3:00 - 6:30, LCI is holding a  "Pop-up" Event Staff from City Plan may also be there, so you can ask questions about plans for out-of-scale buildings on Grand Ave (and anything else).

2) FYI there is an article with renderings of the proposed development on Grand Avenue here: https://www.newhavenindependent.org/article/grand_ave_development_poses_controversy  Please note, the proposed building's height is SIX STORIES total, not five as reported. There is a floor of parking at grade with five stories of apartments above. For scale, the proposed building is as tall as those on Olive near Wooster Street and those at Grove and State Streets--but the proposed Grand Avenue project abuts lots with two- and three-story homes.

3) PLEASE CONSIDER SIGNING THE PETITION https://www.ipetitions.com/petition/neighborhood-input-for-development requesting a public hearing to get neighborhood input on the proposed development on Grand Avenue, and please ask your friends and neighbors to sign as well

4) SAVE THE DATE. The City Planning Commission will review the proposal for this development on JULY 19. The meeting begins at 6:00 on Zoom. The site plan application is here: 873 Grand Avenue SPR. The Commission will decide at that meeting whether to allow public comment (this is why we need to collect signatures), so please log on and be prepared to comment, if given the opportunity:
