I hope you have had a peaceful and joyous holiday season as we head into a new year. Below are several city-wide and neighborhood updates.
Public Safety
Please find below the NHPD End of Year 2025 New Haven Crime Summary issued this week. It includes City-wide as well as each District’s stats. Wooster Square is part of District 1 - Downtown/Wooster Square. The next local Compstat Report will be issued on January 21, 2026. I am not sure when the next Compstat Meeting will be held, but I will do my best to continue my positive working relationship with the NHPD to share Wooster Square's public safety updates regardless.
Art Exhibit Through March 31st at 360 State Lobby - Branford Arts & Cultural Alliance West (BACA-West)
An Artist Reception will take place on Thursday, January 15, from 5-7pm. Please join Artists Barbara Fenton, Lisa Hess Hasselgrave, Molly MacDonald, Edity Rynolds, & MJ Stevenson at this Reception for neighbors. So far, the January thaw looks to cooperate 😉

2 Meetings About Improvements to the Court Street Bridge and State Street Station in New Haven
This is a reminder about 2 (two) upcoming meetings regarding proposed improvements to the Court Street Bridge and State Street Station in New Haven. The project will convert the Court Street Bridge to pedestrian-only and create a direct connection to State Street Station. Related station work will replace and extend the existing island platform.
- The first meeting will be a stakeholder meeting focused on the Court Street Bridge conversion and will be held for Court Street apartment residents and nearby property owners directly affected by the project - the public is welcome to attend. The meeting will take place on Monday, January 12, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. in the Hall of Records Meeting Room at 200 Orange Street in New Haven.
- CTDOT will hold a second Public Information Meeting at High School in the Community (175 Water Street) on Tuesday, January 20, 2026 at 6:00 p.m. This meeting is an opportunity for the broader community to learn about the project and ask questions.
