Greetings All -

Here are some updates that evolved after I sent my last email earlier this week.

Public Safety
I just received the August 5-18, 2024 Compstat Report which indicates there were three public safety incidents reported in the Wooster Square area during that period.
  • 8.7.2024 - 111 Wooster Street - Larceny from a vehicle at 11:07am
  • 8.13.2024 - 280 Greene Street at Wooster Place - Larceny from a vehicle at 8:20am
  • 8.13.2024 - 42 Union Street/Fair Street - Larceny from a vehicle at 1:21pm
I continue to work with Lt. Borer to track public safety incidents in our community through Compstat Reports. I am hoping that Compstat Meetings will begin again this fall.

Labor Day Run - Monday September 2 - Annual (47th year) Foxon Law New Haven Road Race will begin on the New Haven Green!
  • The Kids Fun Run starts at 8:10 a.m. The 20K, Half Marathon and 5K all start at 8:30 a.m.  AND we are fortunate to have the race run through our beloved Wooster Square neighborhood on Chapel Street.
  • Neighbors will gather along the Chapel Street and DePalma Court route to cheer on the many runners who usually start coming through just after 9am - for the next couple of hours.
  • Come join us and bring your coffee as we all wake up together with the race!  See you there!  🏃🏽🏃‍♀️
Street Sweeping
Be on the lookout for street sweeping signs next week for the first Thursday and Friday of September. Please remember to move your cars so that the streets can be thoroughly cleaned. The City usually tickets cars that aren't moved.

Lost Dog
A neighbor reported that earlier this morning a lost dog (intact male) was running around Wooster Square up Olive Street, past Williams St towards State St and then crossed over onto Audubon St before he disappeared. The neighbor left a message with New Haven Animal Control if someone is looking for him.

Have a safe Labor Day Week-end,

Sarah
