Greetings Neighbors,
Two community events to share ....
Coffee with a Cop
On Wednesday 8.24 (tomorrow) morning at 10am, Lt. Borer, our Downtown/Wooster Square District Manager, will be at Willoughby's on Church and Grove Streets for coffee with community members. Please stop by to meet, greet and chat with him!
Art Show
Our long-time neighbor Sara Ohly is hosting an art show, "An Observant Life: Nick Ohly" featuring the paintings and drawings of her late husband (see attached flyer below). The show will be on view August 30-November 26, 2022 at the Lawn Club (193 Whitney Avenue) and will feature landscapes of Vermont, the Netherlands, Guildford and New Haven, where Nick lived and traveled. The opening reception is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13 from 5-7pm. All are welcome. Many pieces of Nick's art will be for sale, with 90% of the proceeds supporting our neighborhood's Sunrise Cafe (www.sunrisecafenewhaven.org) serving free and healthy breakfasts for people experiencing homelessness or food insecurity; and 10% of the sales will support the Lawn Club.
That's the news for today, along with some welcomed rain! ☔
