New Haven ALERT

Hi, this is Mayor Justin Elicker with an important message for New Haven residents regarding an upcoming community meeting and conversation on the topic of public safety.

This Thursday, July 14th at 6 p.m. at Hill Regional Career High School, please join me, our new Police Chief Karl Jacobson, and your fellow New Haven residents for a town hall meeting and discussion on public safety in our City. At the meeting, you’ll have the opportunity to meet Chief Jacobson, hear more about our vision and plans to strengthen public safety in New Haven, and to share your thoughts, suggestions and questions as well.

We also want to provide the opportunity for the community to come together to discuss the recent tragic incident and injury involving Mr. Richard “Randy” Cox while he was in-custody of the New Haven Police Department as well as the actions we’re taking as a City to help ensure an incident like this never happens again.

The meeting will take place this Thursday, July 14th at 6 p.m. at Hill Regional Career High School located at 140 Legion Avenue. This will be the first of three community meetings on this topic.

I encourage residents to attend and participate in one of these important discussions, and I hope to see you there.
