Greetings Neighbors,

Here are a few updates for your review.

Public Safety

Yesterday I attended the NHPD community Compstat Meeting at the Hotel Marcel - one of their monthly meetings in different NH neighborhoods. The in-person meeting allowed me the opportunity to follow up with our District Manager, LT Guliuzza, on a disturbing story that had been in local news last week regarding a skull that had been found in Wooster Square with an antisemitic message. Lt Guliuzza confirmed that there was a police report filed on February 3, 2025 indicating that a skull (not human) with an antisemitic message was found across from 109 Olive Street at Greene Street. A special detective has been assigned, and the skull has been sent for DNA testing. The FBI will also be involved. The NHPD has asked that anyone with information about this incident contact the non-emergency NHPD number (203-946-6316).

Know Your Rights

As information about federal immigration policy and practice changes emerge, the ACLU has updated information about immigrants’ rights in these uncertain times. Please see the attached document and feel free to share it with those whom it would benefit!

New Grocery Store Coming to 360 State Street

Good news about a new supermarket in walking distance of Wooster Square at 360 State Street! Now, as Elm City Market reopens on George Street, we'll have 2 supermarket choices within walking distance! Imagine that?!? See the story here: https://www.newhavenindependent.org/article/new_supermarket_coming_to_360_state
