2024 Election & Voting Options

Early Voting. We have a critical opportunity to vote in federal and state elections this year. Our options for when to vote have increased with early in-person voting which starts today at City Hall 165 Church Street, 2nd Floor Meeting Room.

Early voting ends on Sunday November 3. Hours are 10am-6pm - except on October 29 and 31 when hours are 8am-8pm. Look for parking signs that say Parking for early Voting/SDR.

In-person Election Day Voter Registration and Voting - November 5, 2024. We can also can continue to register to vote (at City Hall,

2nd Floor Meeting Room) and vote in-person on Election Day itself on November 5th. Most Wooster Square addresses vote at Conte West Hills Magnet School at 511 Chapel Street for federal and state elections. 

Absentee Voting. If you need to vote Absentee, here are the deadlines: 

You can request an absentee ballot so it is received by November 4; you can return your absentee ballot in person by November 4 and you can mail the absentee ballot so it is received by November 5 by 8pm when the polls close. 

 

Ballot Referendum. This year there is a ballot referendum related to allowing absentee voting for any reason, not reasons related to illness, being out of town or voting on a day that a religious holiday would prohibit. 

The ballot referendum you will see asks: 

Shall the Constitution of the State be amended to permit the General Assembly to allow each voter to vote by absentee ballot?



Please note that a majority vote will enable state legislators to introduce a law for no-excuse absentee voting. Failure to pass the referendum means absentee voting guidelines will remain the same as they are for now. 

Pumpkin Painting October 26, 3-5pm

Bring your children and friends to the Historic Wooster Square Association’s annual Pumpkin Painting event in Wooster Square Park this Saturday October 26 from 3-5pm. Pumpkins, paints and light refreshments provided! See you there! 🎃
