to Woomera on the Web, e...@stockrepublic.com
I am trying to trace any information on my Uncle Tom McGhee (Thomas
Laidlaw McGhee).

Tom was born in 1914 in Dundee, Angus, Scotland.

He emigrated in 1952, under the Assisted Passage scheme I believe, to
work at the Rocket Range in Woomera, where he continued to live and
work until at least 1962.

I don't know whether Tom worked as a civilian or as part of the
military presence there.

I'd love to hear from anyone who knew Tom, and who has any
reminiscences about him, or better still, any photos from the time.

Tom continued to live in South Australia until he sadly died in
December 1972, from massive stomach cancer that killed him within 3
weeks of diagnosis.

Tom lodged with Mr & Mrs Brooks, 87 Hall Street, Semaphore, South
Australia 5019.

Any assistance anyone can give, however small, I would very much
appreciate as I am putting together our family tree and am very keen
to have a clearer picture of Uncle Tom's life in Australia.

Best regards

Paul Richard Hynd (p...@stockrepublic.com)
