Herewith my preview report...
My visit to Istana Lama Seri Menanti on November 27, 2015.
I feel honoured when requested by Dato' Fuad Rahman to make
a visit to Istana Lama Seri Menanti for the occasion on Friday, November 27,
2015. It had been a while since I last visited this Bandar Diraja, that I had
forgotten to bring up the subject of previous experiences on "Thermo-Dynamics".
My first visit to this place was when I was a member of
MCOBA Annual Dinner 2006 organising committee with requests to do some recognisance
inside the Banquet Hall earlier the year, in preparations for seating and
layout arrangements, locating services connecting equipments for the concert
performances, placements of reception, souvenir and registration counters and, the
school boys choir to perform during dinner time. Later, on December 2, 2006, we
returned to do the settings, after an early morning Golf Tournament, and before
the final event the evening. I was again at Istana Besar Seri Menanti prior to
the ceremonial burial on the passing of the late Al-Marhum Tuanku Jaafar ibni
Al-Marhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman (19 Julai 1922 - 27 Disember 2008)and the formal
announcement on the installation our current
YAM Tuan, Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir on December 29, 2008. During
these times, the Istana Lama Seri Menanti were closed to public, and I was
there for various different reasons.
Upon arriving the recent trip at 9.52am, I took note again the
surrounding at this high-levelled plains of Bandar Diraja Seri Menanti and its locality.
Luckily too that I had some images reminding me the experiences. I feel that
local behavioural weather pattern should be put into perspective when considering
an assessment of a place, including its natural bio-climatic conditions. Because
they play quite significant roles towards our concern and care on the maintenance
of building structures.
I began to understand about these elements on climatic behavioural
patterns, was when, I was doing a report on The Gap Rest House at foothill of
Fraser Hill for Tourism Selangor and, whilst assessing the impacts on building dilapidations,
for comparing it with one other of its building near top of the hill, Sri
Berkat Rest House. Apart from them, some residents of Janda Baik had also
informed me of their experiences about certain aspects that could corrode conditions
of metals on certain musical instruments or likewise, merely through exposures
to mountain atmosphere or dews saturating into hidden corners . Hence I would
pay attention these awareness for
solution as scientifically I could, the physics of Thermo-Dynamic Effect. Thus,
these could explain further their effects to building materials, where most our
conservators would had left them out from equations for considerations.
We cannot put aside any factors prevailing through
influences on thermo-dynamic effects at obvious localities, where otherwise would agitate further
the root causes on dilapidations. The acts are to succour advance warnings that may affect future major consequences if not
vigilance nor scrutiny.
