Malays are being petty to the extent of making life difficult in a community of different races and religions. We better examine our inner values and behavior, which are to no lesser extent a lot more  unislamic like eg. corrupt acts . We are isolating ourselves from the rest of the community in the name of religion. When I eat outside to non-Muslim outlets, I would ask if the food are prepared in the halal way when there is no halal certificate on display.
Was was saya tak makan!

Soal Cina ka hindu masak pun tak menjadi hal kat teman asalkan teman tak menyangsikan kehalalan secara biasa, yakni taksampai pi buat DNA.Tapi teman tak order benda spt ayam lazimnya.

masak.
Kedai mamak pun dikatakan Muslim yang
memasak.
Teman takpayah gaduh nak pi check. Depa
teman anggap Islam dan hasil masakan depa
pun teman gamakkan halal.
Masa tu takdak JAKIM dsb.
Di Kedah hampir semua Melayu percaya bahawa kedai makan Hailam yang tak menyajikan daging kerbau pendek dianggap
OK bagi orang Islam. Kat PPinang no such thing.

So it`s perfectly ok for me.And that`s my golden rule for any dish
served to me, especially since I travel a lot, and sometimes to countries
where you`ll be lucky if you can find any Muslim! If I`m not sure about something ,
I let the dish pass.Easy!

PS: I was on a biz trip abroad once, many years ago, with a govt officer in my
travelling group. He "was-was" with just about everything, whicch was not surprising
as he was oje of those who wore a kopiah on his head all the time. So, believe it or not,
for breakfast, lunch and dinner, all he had was hard-boiled eggs(he didn`t trust any of the
cooked food, and by eating hard boiled eggs  he need not use the  plates in the restaurant)
and coke( which he drank straight from the bottle or can, since he didn`t trust the glasses
laid  on the restaurant table).I worried to death for him, because he was getting steadily weaker
by the day during the trip, and it was right in the middle of a very cold winter!Hmmmm! But, I
kept reminding myself, to each, his own!

1. Kedai org islam + diluluskan JAKIM
2. Kedai org islam, tiada sijil JAKIM
3. Kedai org bukan islam + diluluskan JAKIM
4. Kedai org bukan islam, tiada sijil JAKIM
5. Francais antarabangsa + diluluskan JAKIM
6. Francais antarabangsa, tiada sijil JAKIM.

Tapi janganlah kita perkecilkan usaha mereka-mereka yg berusaha & bertegas mencari yg paling baik utk diri mereka, walaupun saya tak bersetuju bila mereka melakukannya tanpa ada ilmu (seperti contoh yg abg AA & abg SM beri).

Kita nak jawab apa? "Oh itu Ah Kau kata halal, saya pun makan je lah." Walhal Ah Kau ingat yg haram itu cuma babi & dna babi.

Wallahu 'alam.

In our section 3 alone there are certainly more than 7 Muslim restaurants, including those at MAIS complex.
Then there's a MacD to boot. During weekends ramai pendatang dari section lain dtg makan.
My family sometimes order nasi goreng Thai dari The Serai (run by Thai-speaking
Malays) by phone and then collect. Sedap!!!!!!!
RM9.00 per pack which is packed padat.

BroWad2
In Sarawak, its not quite possible for visitors like us to find your 1 and 2, as one can hardly find Muslim restaurants in town centres or near hotels where we are likely to stay.
In places like Bintulu or Sibu, either one eats at the hotel (yang ada bintang sikit lah) or at 5.
In Bintulu, I saw many peninsular Malays eating at a no.6 outlet despite the halal sign had been covered up on JAIS instruction.
I avoided that outlet and walked quite a distance to find a Pizza Hut (which I simply assumed to be halal and not bothering to check for the sign) where service was slow due to the large crowd. I was finally   given someone else's order by mistake, and that other someone must have been equally puzzled as to why his pizza tasted different.
Even when I was living in Bintulu, in 80's and again in 90's, it was also difficult to find Muslim restaurants, even though I had a car then. The one or two in the suburbs were like hidup segan mati tak mau.
So I normally ate at the plant and at the club, where no pork was served, both run by mixed locals, supervised by Muslim & nonMuslim staff committees.
Now maybe ada kedai mamak kot.
Sekarang xtau lah.
Di Sg Petani, banyak. No problem. In downtown especially.
