Winter CSA: Eating Locally Year Round is easy with Winter Sun Farms (Hudson Valley, NY)

Dear Core Members,

Would you like to give your CSA members access to locally grown produce during the winter months?

Winter Sun Farms partners with Hudson Valley farmers to extend the season by putting up summer produce for consumption during winter months. Once a month, Winter Sun Farms delivers 7-10 items straight to CSAs through NYC and the Hudson Valley. Each item in the share is labeled with the name and address of the farm.

Your CSA can become a Winter Sun Farms member in three shakes:

1. Secure a location and time for distribution once a month on Tuesdays (December 14th, January 11th, February 8th,March 15th, April 12th). We may deliver a few hours before your distribution time, so we'll need someone to accept the boxes and keep them in a good place. We'll also need you to hold on to our delivery boxes (collapsible) until the next month's delivery, so storage is essential.
   
2. Sign up a minimum of 20 members. Shares are $160 for December through April. Egg shares are available for $27.50 (one dozen eggs a month for five months). You can collect the payments, have us handle them, or a combination of both. If you need to add on a fee to cover the logistics (site fees, staffing, etc), feel free to do so.
   
3. Meet our November 30th deadline. Last minute sign-ups are OK, but you'll need 20 members to ensure delivery.
   

Already have a winter share? Consider Winter Sun Farms as an additional option. Our shares are a great supplement to root vegetables, meat, and dairy options offered during the winter months. Some of our existing member CSAs offer a Winter Sun Farms share in addition to the shares offered by their farmer(s).

Interested members may find a location convenient to work, school, and/or home.
