New Port Richey Police arrest man with six machine guns.
On 02/02/2011, Officer of the New Port Richey Police Department responded to 5702 Wyoming Avenue as the result of a complaint that a man was standing in the front yard holding two handguns. Upon arrival, Officers located the subject of the complaint but he was not holding any firearms or weapons of any kind. The defendant asked Officers to “kill” him. He was subsequently taken into custody in proximity to the doorway of his residence.
As Officers secured the subject, they observed a number of firearms near the front door. Detectives responded to the scene to conduct a follow up investigation. During the course of the investigation, Detectives identified and took into evidence thousands of rounds of ammunition as well as six (6) machine guns (to include a 50 caliber machine gun with ammunition). Charles Duffy was arrested and transported to the Land O’ Lakes jail.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
