Hello Friends of Woodmont Park,
An update on the progress of the shade pavilion at Woodmont Park - The framing is now complete (see attached photos). It looks great! Next week we are scheduled to get the gravel in for the resurfacing, and the week of the 10th the concrete will be installed. After that, the metal roof will be attached and the stone work completed. As always, weather and other factors may intervene, but we are pleased with the progress thus far and excited to see the final product.
For all who noticed, the Principal Garriott memorial plaque which was near the pavilion has been removed for safekeeping during the construction. It will be reinstalled on a new sign column in approximately the same location after the big equipment phase of construction is finished. We cherish the history of Woodmont School and the experiences of so many of our neighbors who attended! Also, the pedestrian crossing warning sign in the crosswalk will also be reinstalled after construction is complete.
Thanks for doing such a great job keeping your children safely out of the construction zone. Have a wonderful weekend at the park and elsewhere.
