Thank you to everyone that was able to attend or donate our service activity. It was wonderful to get to meet and hear the stories of Marzia & Razia and of Zahra.  Their first-hand accounts of their refugee experiences were touching and inspirational.

Sarah Jacobson - who joined us to talk about the work that she does with Whole Heart Refugee Alliance - is a great contact for those of you who are interested in connecting to find out to help more of the Afhan refugees that they help with.  Her email is  sarahj...@tsosrefugees.org and you can read more about Whole Heart Reugee Alliance on their LinkedIn page

The piece of legislation that Sarah said was an important way to help Afghan refugess who are on Humanitarian Parole Visas is the Afghan Adjustment Act- this source seems to have good facts about it.   She asked that we make calls to spread the word about it and to get bipartisan support for the bill.

Sarah mentioned that over 3000 Afghan refugees have been resettled in Washington State since last fall. After hearing these stories, I'd like to do more to help- if anyone else would like to find a way to coordinate efforts, let's talk!

Thank you!
Emily
