Hey Folks,
The weather in the Motor City seems to be warming enough to feel like leaving the house and going downtown a couple days in the last month to give Randall Genser and Billy Ob a hand with the anagama style kiln they are building off of Jefferson Avenue in downtown Detroit. Since having to leave my kiln behind in the move from up North I really need somewhere to give a hand with a wood burning kiln so I took some tools I like using to their studio and picked away at some of the huge pile of
tree trunk, limbs, branches, and twigs they got from one of their landscaping buddies...
They are also making some decent progress bricking in the chamber and should be ready soon to pull the arch forms and start loading...
The long chamber has three side stoke holes...
Their hope is of course to attract other people to come to the studio and make some pots
too.
