I'm starting to understand that at Bushwick in the past, the clinic held medications that patients came in and had administered - they didn't need to go to the pharmacy to pick up the medication & bring it back as they do now.

I have one patient who said she used to come in when she had a genital wart outbreak and the midwife would administer TCA.

Does anyone know if we can still do this? I.e. order medications to administer in clinic? I am particularly curious to know if we can order medications that are not stocked at WH as formulary.

From Debbie:

We lost the family planning grant.  You can ask to have TCA stocked. Can you be more clear regarding medications.
We do not have a pharmacy at Bushwick.  If the woman has insurance she can get it at any pharmacy.  Otherwise she must go to WH to get the medication.  If we want to add medications to the WH pharmacy it must go through the hospital formulary committee.
Do you have medications in mind?
Deb

In reply (from Lily) - How/who do I ask to have TCA stocked? I don't think this is formulary but I may be wrong.
The other medications women have mentioned receiving there in the past have been mostly family planning - depo and birth control pills. Also azithromycin I think?? Not 100% about that.
