Hot hands & feet

Hi everyone - I emailed Nicole about this already, but the patient called me at Bushwick yesterday to complain that it is getting worse and I thought I would throw it out to the larger group.

She is a young woman having her first (I think?) baby, 15 weeks pregnant, complaining of extremely hot hands & feet, particularly at night. She says she can't sleep they are so hot. She denies any itching. I suggested relief measures - cold pack, wet socks- when I saw her in clinic last week. When she called yesterday to say she was having unbearable burning I told her to go to the emergency room. But I honestly don't know what they will do for her there. She says she spoke to her doctor in Peru and he said to run coagulation studies??

Any ideas for management? Assuming she was sent home from the ER I guess I could refer to adult med at her next visit...??
