Dear Tim,

All of us here at The Furniture Doctors express our sincere sympathy over your loss.  We are all saddened by the loss of such an amazing person.  We met you (Tim) and Joyce at one of the instructional retreats we attended in Indiana.   We purchased several DVDs and CDs which greatly enlightened our business. I am sure we were just a very small percentage of the number of people you touched.   Our sincere sympathy.

*In Memoriam*:

*Joyce Rae Inman 1948 - 2018*

It is my duty, sadly, to report to you all that my wife and to many of you
your friend, Joyce, passed on February 15, 2018. One of the wonders of the
digital age is that it has enabled so many of you have stayed in touch with
us for so long after we left the 'Minuteman Years.' Thank you. A mixed
blessing is that this very impersonal tool can and must now be used to
relay this heartbreaking news. I pray you will understand my circumstances
and forgive me the use of this crude method of communicating this message
to many of you for the first time. It has been both amazing and so very
rewarding that we have so many folks all over the country that we can call
true friends as a result of a business relationship from previous years.
Joyce and I both enjoyed our connections with you.

Joyce was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2014. Following an extensive
surgery we were told that the usual outlook would be to expect 6 months to
one year of remaining life. Joyce endured several rounds of various
chemotherapy treatments and participated in two different clinical trial
studies through the Estabrook Cancer Center in Omaha, Nebraska. These
treatments and the wonderful doctors she had extended her life 3 1/2 years
more. Though it was not always easy, Joyce did enjoy most of her time
during those years. Having personal calls from some of you and cards and
social media contacts kept her going. (Thanks, Joe!!!) In the end though,
the disease hit Joyce like a freight train and she was not able to recover.
She entered the hospital for the last time January 12. She entered Hospice
Care February 8, passing on February 15. The photograph in her obituary was
taken at Christmas.

Her ashes have been buried in our local cemetery in Randolph, Iowa. Her
memorial service will be held in Shenadoah, Iowa 5/5. I am including a link
to her obituary here for those who would like to see it. Joyce was my wife,
my best friend and my business partner. Together, we helped Iowa State
University invent co-ed dormitory housing in the late 1960's as 'Head
Residents' and were married nearly 47 years. Much of my time these last
years has been taken to provide care for Joyce - including almost daily
hospital visits these last months. I know you will understand. I have not
wanted to include this information here previously because it just wasn't
the place for it. Now, it is time to communicate with all of you and let
you know her passing. Thanks again for your many years of friendship. As
time goes on, I hope to again be more active and helpful with your
furniture and restoration questions.

Thanks for your friendship, and for your understanding.

Devasted....words are inadequate, Tim. May God hold you closely now,
especially when silence overtakes you. Forgive me for not being a better
friend.

Tim,
I could tell by the tone of our last email that things were pretty rough on
your home front. Annette and I send our deepest condolences to you and
yours at this rough juncture in your life. I don't think it crude at all
to communicate this here as many times I put more "thought" into the
written word than I do trying to stumble things out of my mouth. You and
Joyce always exhibited a strong faith....may it serve you and your family
well during these trying times.....

If you do end up switching to West (we have used it for many years)
consider getting the metered pumps for the appropriate sized cans that you
buy. We use the gallon/quart cans with the pumps. We find the metered
pumps to very accurate and virtually spill proof in the shop environment.
Just one downward pump of each one and you've got your perfect mix ratio
for a "batch."

Gosh it is good to read notes from Tim and Darrell ON ANY SUBJECT! Miss
the days of the Kwick Kleen Forum! Somehow, I got unplugged from
everyone...miss the learning!!!
