Up-to-date PC Specs

Hello Dr. Forsslund,

Can you please provide PC specifications for the current PC you use to run the WoodenHaptics system?

I have been trying to compile the recent hapticfabrikenapi-beta1 with chai3d, but I am still encountering many errors related to wrong processor, OS, and 32 vs 64 bit systems. I am using an old 32 bit PC, so I think I am creating too much trouble for myself.

I have funding to buy the same processor and motherboard you currently use. I see from the 2017 BOM you have a motherboard and processor listed. Are you still testing the software with this same PC? If not can you please provide build specifications for the PC you use now?

Hi Blake,

Theoretically 32/64 bit and cpu should not matter since all is source-based (not sure about everything in sensoray drivers though) but there may be hardcoded references to the 64-bit libraries in the .pro/cmakelists.txt files. Could be worth fixing. With that said, you might get it to work faster with running the latest Long-Term Support release of Ubuntu (which is what I use). Currently that is 18.04.2 64-bit. 

Computer-wise any (x86 at least) would do actually. Even a laptop can compile the sensoray drivers (but not use it for obvious reasons). 

For desktop I use a core i5 currently, with an nvidia quadro 4000 graphics card. But as I said, should not matter much which you use.
