hey I havent been able to practice as much as I'd like to, still not very good at all. Next week hopefully I'll be good enough to play actual music, let alone practice music with whole notes. >.<

i feel like we need full participation to process as a band.

so i just got a call from the job that i sometimes work, and they want me to work an event tonight.

i really need the money so i told them i'd work.

Yep,  I saw your email before i left home.    This is getting to be overly familiar.    I have plenty to do here at home, and I hate this last-minute stiff.     It's a two and a half hour round trip for me.

Can we agree to commit ourselves to rehearsals at least 24 hours in advance?    What is our quorum?   (ie what is the minimum number to have a rehearsal?)   If we cant get it together to rehearse, do we actually have a band??     i am pretty frustrated.

Right now I don’t think we do have a band.  Other than percussion it’s you, me and Mitchell, and I don’t think that’s enough. 

 

All I can suggest is another blast of recruiting around Honk, in October.  We can do Craigslist again, the Go list, maybe some corkboard signs, and I’m going to walk around Honk with the tuba and a bell cover saying “join Worcester Honk band”.  From what I hear there are 50 people on this mailing list.  Any ideas, folks?

 

Between now and then I don’t see a reason to get together.  Maybe the one or two weeks before Honk we can rehearse with what we have, but I say we forget September unless someone has a compelling reason to rehearse.  We don’t have any gigs planned, do we?

 

It’s tough to believe there aren’t 15 more people in greater Worcester that would want to do this.  We just can’t find them.

This is so sad.  I was planning to come to rehearsal this week and last week, but then I saw the email threads.  Even with me, though, I don't think that is a sufficient band.  We need more people!  Can we schedule a rehearsal to recruit people to go to? (I just don't feel like I can recruit someone if I don't have a time and a place to tell them to come to.)  It could be in a few weeks to give us time to try and recruit folks, and then we could check back in before then to see how we're going and if we want to meet or what.
