Hey Ya'll.
Practice on Tuesday?

also I got an email from folks at Honk Fest.  I sent him a blurb about the band.  I know we don't have an actual blurb yet, but I feel like this is an okay history general feel about the band so far.
Sorry if I overstepped any consensus boundaries, but here's the email thread:

P.S.  Unfortunately we aren't able to play as a band for HonkFest this year, but we can still play with the Pick Up Band.

Thanks so much, Mitchell.  I will share your email with the committee and will get back to you.

Definitely.
The Worcester Ice Cream Social Band was made for the radical community in the Worcester/Central Massachusetts area.  The name is derived as a homage to Emma Goldman, the famous anarchist, who historically has ties to Worcester, Massachusetts.  At one point in her life, Emma Goldman was said to have an ice cream parlor in the Canal district of Worcester.   We are a very new band consisting of soprano saxophone, trumpet, tuba, saxophone, and a few percussionists.  As we are still in the infant stage as an ensemble, we have tried to maintain a presence in the community, most recently playing the half time show for the Worcester World Cup soccer tournament.   We have played Start on the Street, Central Massachusetts' largest Art Walk, and we have worked with small community groups to bring music for the masses.

In essence, we are a new community ensemble.  My goal is to recruit more folks from all walks of life and utilize music for social and radical change.

Tuesday practice is good.

I’m working on a bell cover for Honk.  See if we can’t get some recruits.
