Hello!
I hope you were safe and dry during the recent floods in our area. Happily the excess water runs right off our small island, though some usually sedentary creeks turned into racing torrents for awhile.
Last year on the Winter Solstice, I began two painting projects I've been wanting to do for a long time. The first is a series of paintings from the Curry Preserve, a nature preserve owned by the Heritage Trust. Secondly, I've been wanting to start a "painting a day" project. It occurred to me that the two projects could be combined nicely into one, so I made some plans, adjusted my schedule, and jumped in.
I started photographing potential subjects every day at Curry, but getting started with the paintings took a little longer. I use my computer to view the reference photos while I paint. Unfortunately, my computer got infected with a particularly nasty set of viruses that took (literally) weeks to clean off. Finally, today, I was able to start painting. Here's the first, from a photo taken on the Solstice, 12-21-2008:

You can read more about the project and each of the images if you go to the Painting a Day page of my blog:

Scroll to the bottom of the page and read the posts in reverse order if you want to see them chronologically. I've put the photographs on the blog until I can get each painting done. I'll swap them out as the paintings are completed.
These paintings will also be available as fine art giclee prints and greeting cards which you can order online anytime. Look for a link in the painting descriptions on my blog, or see all images I have available by clicking on the Prints/Cards tab at the top of each page.
Enjoy!
