Next Saturday and Sunday, May 24 & 25 (Memorial Day weekend), from 10am to 6pm each day will be the annual spring Lummi Island Artists Studio Tour. This is the biggest tour yet with more artists participating than ever before.
Catch
the ferry from Gooseberry Point at 10 minutes past any hour and go straight to the Islander grocery (go left off the ferry dock and the Islander will be on the right). Pick up a free Studio Tour map with all the studio locations marked. Flip it over to see the description of which artists and what kinds of art are available at each location. (I've attached a PDF copy of the map for your convenience.)
As you're planning where you want to visit, be sure to include the
Beach Store Cafe (looks like a big yellow house at
2200 N. Nugent Road). That's where you'll see my latest paintings! It's also a great place for lunch, dinner, or a cup of coffee (their mocha is amazing). They even offer a special Happy Hour menu from 3-6pm. I'll be stopping by there occasionally throughout the weekend, so if you see me please be sure to say hello!
Saturday from 10am to 1pm is also opening day for the Lummi Island Farmers Market this year. You'll likely find more arts and crafts available there, too.
Current weather forecasts suggest Saturday will have the nicest weather, though most tour locations are indoors so it doesn't really matter.
Enjoy the tour!
