Title: Business Analyst
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 6 Months +
Responsibilities
• Defining requirements for master data solutions for a multi-terabyte Master Data Management (MDM) implementation.
• Gathering and refining requirements for MDM capabilities, using the lnformatica application tool stack.
• Working collaboratively with program staff, HHSC Information Technology team, and other MDM business analysts with a goal of mastering critical agency data and enhancing governed reference data.
The applicant should have strong knowledge in the following skills and job duties:
• Gathering and refining requirements from business and technical users of master data.
• Collaborating with MDM developers to enhance MDM application capabilities for healthcare providers and managed care member domains.
• Strong knowledge of the lnformatica tool stack.
• MDM principles, goals, and tools and how these relate to overall data quality.
• Testing enhancements to MDM databases and application layer(s) before production deployments.
• Working closely with data architects, subject matter and technical experts, and system data models in order to accurately represent as-is and to-be process models that involve master data.
• Communication with project stakeholders and governing councils.
• Collaboration in MDM project lifecycle deployment using agile methods.
• Logical and physical data modeling of the MDM databases (using ER Studio).
• Developing training documentation and demonstration content of enhanced functions (for existing user base) and potential MDM solution uses (for new internal partners).
• Understanding of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and compliance policies.
• Knowledge of HHS systems, security requirements, and/or subject matter is a plus.
Minimum Requirements:
8 years of Experience within HHS system (or other large healthcare or insurance entity) as a technical business analyst
7 years of Proven ability to work successfully with technical and non-technical groups, and manage multiple responsibilities
5 years of Experience and understanding of Enterprise Information Management best practices
4 years of Experience in MDM program implementation, particularly using Informatica suite tools
4years of Experience facilitating productive meetings to formulate business requirements and communicate stakeholder needs to technical staff
3 years’ Experience working with full agile system development lifecycle (SDLC)
Strong Communication, analytical and interpersonal skills at all levels
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Systems Engineering or equivalent experience
