Iceni Ultimate 2014

[Iceni Captains]

*** This is an announcement for all women interested in trying out for
Iceni for the 2014 season. ***

Iceni is a London-based women’s Ultimate team and the current European
champions. We began in 2005, and, on the back of another great season
at the top of the European women's circuit in 2013, we are starting to
look towards the 2014 season, in particular towards WUCC in August
2014.

Over the coming season, we will be working very hard to break into the
top 8 at WUCC. We are looking for committed and enthusiastic players
who are willing to push themselves at our regular team training
sessions and also independently. We are a sociable and friendly bunch
of girls who like to work hard and play hard.

We are looking for players who:
- Have strong Ultimate fundamentals;
- Are athletic and committed to fitness training;
- Want to work hard, learn and improve;
- Can commit to 2+ weekly trainings (both midweek and on weekends); and
- Have a professional, positive and spirited attitude.

We welcome applications from both experienced players and also newer
players who feel that they have potential. Please don’t be shy!

TRIAL INFORMATION

*Sunday 22 December 2013*. We will be contacting all applicants on
Monday 23 December and sending out invitations for trials to
successful applicants:

We are holding a “Death by Ultimate” session on *Friday 10 January
2014, 8-10pm*, which will be open to trialists only but will not form
part of the official selection process.

Our first official trial date will be on the evening of *Friday 24
January 2014, 8-10pm*, and we will be holding a total of 3 trials over
the following 2 weeks. We will be making a first cut between the
second and third trials and are aiming to announce the 2014 team on
Monday 3 February 2014. We will be holding a team meeting during the
week of 3 February and we will begin training approximately 2 weeks
after this.

- Fri 10 Jan 8-10pm (Death by Ultimate session for trialists only,
Rotherhithe, London)
- Fri 24 Jan 8-10pm (Trial 1, Rotherhithe, London)
- Fri 31 Jan 8-10pm (Trial 2, Rotherhithe, London)
- Sun 2 Feb 11-3pm (Trial 3, Millwall, London)
