Introductions

Hello All,

As this is a fairly new group, I thought it would be great for people
to introduce themselves and tell each other about their interest in
the Women's Land Army and how it came about.

I have always been interested in women's history, in particular the
fight for women's rights. I first heard of the Women's Land Army
whilst studying History at school. I was so interested in their work
that I began conducting my own research and finding out more
information for myself. Then whilst I was studying at college, I had
the opportunity to do a project on whatever I wanted. I decided that I
would make a website on the subject of the Women's Land Army.

Through the process of creating the site, I learnt such a lot about
the experiences of Land Girls from a variety of sources including
books, diaries, films and television programmes. I wanted the
information which I had collated together to be available for everyone
so that they could find out more about the valuable work which the
Women's Land Army undertook. I suppose this website is my input into
trying to get the Women's Land Army more recognised.
