Dear Women of Faith,
As you may be aware, the Los Rios Ranch survived the El Dorado fire due to the spectacular work of many fire fighters. Sadly, an early morning four-alarm fire on Friday burned the buildings to the ground. The buildings were owned by the Wildland Conservancy while the Riley family were leasing the property for their business. So, the Wildland Conservancy has lost the buildings and the Riley family has lost everything in them – café, BBQ, bakery, ranch store, and packing house.
If you’d like to help out right now, here are a few things you can do.
1. A Meal Train Plus has been organized to feed Devon and Shelly Riley’s family and their employees along with Wildlands Conservancy staff for a few days while they try to keep things going. If you’d like to participate by preparing sandwiches, drinks, snacks, or fruit, click here https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/d367n6 and see what days are available. Those providing the food are asked to drop them off at a location in Yucaipa each morning by about 10 a.m. and volunteers will transport everything up to the farm.
2. Take your kids and go enjoy what is still there at Los Rios Ranch. The trails are open along with U-pick apples and pumpkins, corn maze, horse-drawn wagon rides, a petting zoo, and a farm tent store. They are trying to make the best of the situation and hope that those that can, will keep up the fall tradition of visiting.
3. They are asking for prayers for their family and crew as the reality of such a loss sinks in.
I know this has been a difficult time for many – including many of you. Thank you for your faith and service and the many ways that you reach out every day to help another.
Jean
