Good evening, Women of Faith and Friends,
A special welcome to any who are new to the Women of Faith email list!
I hope you are all weathering the circumstances we find ourselves in and spreading some joy as you do! Knowing you, I believe you are wherever possible.
Thanks to all those who helped with the creation of 8000+ face coverings (donating fabric, washing, pressing, cutting, sewing, and driving around), and dozens of scrub cabs and isolation gowns.
Moving forward, we have a few needs that I thought to put out there if you’d like to help or participate in.
First a short list of items we’re looking for:
1. **Baby and medium size hat looms and any hooks and large needles that go with them. (Typically, the red and green ones – if you are familiar with them, though they could be a different color.) Just looking to see who might have one at home that you don’t need anymore and would like to donate.
2. Skirt hangers. We have a lot of lovely clothing that has been donated for refugees and we are hanging up some of it. We need hangers for the skirts.
3. School scissors for older children. We have the blunt nose ones; we need the ones for the little older children.
4. Hand pencil sharpeners. The little individual plastic ones.
5. Cute clothing for girls – junior sizes 0 to 14 (XS to XL). Casual or dressy in very good condition.
6. New underwear and socks for boys and girls – all sizes

And for a special opportunity:
With the Christmas season coming up, we are looking for families or individuals who would like to ‘adopt’ a refugee family who has arrived this year. You could participate with your own family or join with another family to plan a special first American Christmas for a family. You could deliver yourself and meet the family, or we could deliver for you. It has not been an easy year to make a new start in a new country and this will fill very real needs including the need to feel loved and welcomed. If you’d like to learn more, reply or call me at 909.648.3436.
Again, thanks to all for who you are and what you are doing
to help each other this 2020!
Blessings,
Jean Arnott
