Sewing Bees for LLUCH’s

"Always in My Heart” Bereavement Program

**I realize that some of you receiving this, live too far away to participate in this tender project.  Your participation can be sending kind thoughts towards those who are in a position to need this kind of caring.

Loma Linda Children’s Hospital NICU and Total Care Birth Center provide love and support for parents whose babies have gone too soon and encourages  bonding to bring comfort and healing. The nurses there have contacted us once again with the urgent request for baby gowns and other items to offer to these grieving parents.

They are especially in need of the tiniest four sizes of gowns as they have no other source of obtaining them. If you or a loved one has ever lost a baby and been in a setting that provides this kind of tender care, you know the value it has in the healing process for grieving parents.

We started helping LLUCH twelve years ago (August 2011). Many of you have been part of the effort. You know what it means. If this is new to you, guaranteed you’ll be touched.

There will be both sewing and non-sewing tasks.

There will be two sewing bees – one evening and one morning.

When:

Thursday, Oct 12 @ 6:00 - 8:30 pm

Friday, Oct 13 @ 9:00 am - 12 noon

Where:

Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

350 Wabash Avenue, Redlands

(next to the Redlands Temple)

Our main focus of these sewing bees will be to cut out and sew the four smallest sizes of baby gowns.  We’ll also be cutting out and sewing blankets, heart sachets, and fabric envelopes, and sewing snaps on the finished gowns (which you may take home to do if you like).

If you have a sewing machine (regular or serger) that you can conveniently bring, please do. We will also have sergers and regular machines available. If you would like to crochet blankets or crochet around the edges of the flannel blankets – including at home, please let me know.

Please go here to sign up https://www.justserve.org/.../bereavement-sewing-bee-for...

and then CONTACT JEAN DIRECTLY at jeana...@gmail.com or 909.648.3436

to tell us if you'll be bringing your own machine or need one of oursor if you’d like a non-sewing job.

A special thank you for helping with this tender cause!

Warmly,

Jean
