Hi Women of Faith and Friends,
If you want to move from California, just volunteer with Women of Faith in the capacity of preparing sewing machines, vacuum cleaners, computers, bicycles, or an occasional piece of furniture, and you’ll be gone within two or three years! I say that in jest – and I really don’t want you to leave – but it’s really happened! Four amazing individuals who have prepared dozens of these items over the past few years have – or will shortly – be moving on to destinations in the U.S. and across the world.
Thanks to Sam Gonzales, David Schaeffer, Ken Grier and Joey Novak! (And if I’ve miss others, I’m sorry. You probably moved too😉!)
So, we’re on the hunt for anyone with the interest and skills to check out and service these donated items. If you or someone you know has even a couple of hours a month and would like to make a difference, please let me know.
Our urgent need right now is to get a couple of our vacuum cleaners prepared to gift for two new refugee families that just arrived in the past week: new belts, cleaned filters, and shined up ready for a new home.

Also, if you’d like to join us here in Mentone to sort and prepare other gifts for new families, we’re usually getting together one morning a week for a couple of hours. It’s amazing the things we accomplish together and the results! To get on the list to be invited, let me know, and you can join us whenever it’s convenient for you.
Thanks!
Jean
P.S. Thank you for the laundry baskets, toilet brushes, and shaving cream! Those shelves are no longer bare🤗!
