Good morning, Women of Faith and Friends,
I hope you are all experiencing the joys of the season, including feelings of love, peace, and hope. I have loved seeing so many expressions of gratitude and goodwill all around me the past few weeks. I especially loved this one shared by a friend:
No amount of fear can change the future; no amount of regret can change the past. Any amount of gratitude can change the present!
We have much to be grateful for despite the challenging times.
Thanks to many of you who are sharing your blessings by participating in adopting a refugee family for Christmas. All nineteen (perhaps 20) of our newer families will have a lovely American holiday this month.
I’m putting out a call for a few items that we could use help with if you are able.
1. Bikes. We have several requests for bicycles. If you have a bicycle in really good condition that your children have grown out of and you’d like to make another child happy with it, let me know.
We’re especially needing the following:
a. Two boy’s 24” wheel size.
b. One boy’s 18” or 20” wheel size.
c. Two girl’s bikes 16” wheel size.
d. Adult size for a dad who needs it for transportation.
2. Bike helmets (which have never been in an accident) and bike locks.
3. Irons. New or good used clothes irons.
4. 2021 wall calendars – if you’re getting more in the mail than you know what to do with – we’d love your extras.
I express my love and gratitude to each of you and pray that you will experience the grace of God this season and always.
With love,
Jean
