Friends,
Most of what we've been up to lately has been loving and serving our new refugee neighbors. That continues to be a much-needed priority. And we also want to continue to support this program at LLUCH which we've been a part of for ten years. If you live close enough to join us in Redlands for this, we welcome you.
Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital NICU and Total Care Birth Center is seriously low on the items needed for their Compassion Care Program. Covid has prevented our having our normal sewing bees and it’s time to catch up! So…
We’re back in the saddle and invite those who sew (non-sewing tasks too!) to join us on:
Thursday, October 28 @ 6:00-8:30 pm and/or
Friday, October 29 @ 9:00am to noon
At the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - 350 South Wabash, Redlands 92374
Projects include:
1. Cutting out and sewing baby gowns, buntings, blankets, heart sachets, and fabric envelopes.
2. Creating and sewing angel gowns from beautiful wedding gowns which have been donated.
(There will be non-sewing tasks too, like cutting out gowns, threading ribbon, crocheting around blankets, hand sewing, etc.)
These are among the items we have provided since August 2011 to parents whose babies have gone too soon and encourages bonding to bring comfort and healing through LLUCHs "Always in My Heart Compassion Care Program".
You may bring your own sewing machine or serger or use one of ours.
