Happy New Year Everyone!

As 2012 is here, I really hope one of your big resolutions for this year is to continue learning to code, as it is a never-ending journey as I'm discovering. If you are still committed to learning to code, you are definitely not alone. CodeYear, a New Years resolution to code website by CodeCademy, is at almost 200,000 sign-ups right now!

If you're interested in learning together in 2012 in person, I will be organizing a San Francisco meetup every other Saturday from 3-6pm. You can join a separate google group here, since I don't want to spam everyone who doesn't live in San Francisco with meetup reminders. If we can get enough people to come on a regular basis, we can start getting speakers and tutors to join as well.

Also, if you are interested in a job change, Hungry Academy from LivingSocial is offering and incredible opportunity. LivingSocial is paying 24 people to learn to code for 6 months and will offer them a job upon completion of the course. The fine print is that you'll have to move to DC and work for LivingSocial for 2 years after completing the course. Luckily, Hungry Academy will be open sourced and available on the web for anyone who wants to follow along, so committing to the program is not a requirements to learning.

Finally, if you're interested in learning other things from Stanford, make sure to check out some of the Stanford real-time classes that are offered to the general public: http://blog.randylubin.com/post/15280095283/listing-of-free-online-stanford-courses-winter-2012

Wishing all of you the best of luck in 2012!!
Natasha

Thank you, Natasha!

I think this will finally be the year I learn to code - I didn't get to do dive into our course as much as I liked, but now I have time.

Good luck to everyone and happy 2012!

Shelby
