New thematic report - SR extreme poverty - Civil and political rights of persons living in poverty

Dear colleagues,

I'm pleased to share with you a report of the Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, Professor Alston, to the 72nd session of the GA. The report addresses the enjoyment of civil and political rights of persons living in poverty and he will be presenting it to the Third Committee of the GA in the morning of Monday 23 October (around midday New York time, around 6 pm Geneva time).  The presentation can be watched on UN Web TV.

The report in all the UN official languages is available on the Special Rapporteur's website here and also on the Official Documentation System (search Symbol "A/72/502").  I attach the English version in this email.
