Hi ladies, mark your calendars for some female-friendly bicycle events upcoming:

March 25 Women-Only Street Skills Class
EBBC is offering a women-only road safety course on Thursday, March 25 at 6pm at Title Nine Sports in Emeryville.  This 3.5-hour classroom course covers the rules of the road, safe riding techniques, and other helpful info for anyone riding on the street - I took the co-ed version last April and learned a LOT, even after years of biking all over the place.  If you get really excited, the "part 2" road course is being offered on Saturday, March 27 in Oakland and I'm planning to take that one as my next step in safe cycling.  For details about the gal's class and to sign up, go here: http://www.ebbc.org/index.php?q=civicrm/event/info&reset=1&id=139

March 31 Getting Women On Bikes Webinar
The Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals is offering a FREE webinar at 12pm on March 31 called "Writing Women Back into Bicycling: Changing Transportation Culture to Encourage More Women to Cycle More Places More Often."  There is a chance that ACTIA or TransForm will offer a group viewing opportunity, and I'll send out details if that happens.  Details and registration are here: http://www.apbp.org/events/event_details.asp?id=100124

April 11 WOW March Ride:
Since TWO of you suggested pedaling out to the Albany Bulb, we gotta do it!  Sunday, April 11 (because April 4 is Easter) we'll ride the Bay Trail north through Emeryville and Berkeley to check out the view of the Bay and the crazy art on this Albany shoreline park.  Details forthcoming in the WOBO E-news and on our website, but you can check out the route on Google maps here: http://tinyurl.com/WOBORide10-04-11 (Pssst - did you hear that Google maps now offers biking directions? Pretty cool).  Time is 10am-1pm and we'll start and end at Mosswood Park.  Please RSVP by Wednesday, April 7 to sha...@walkoaklandbikeoakland.org and feel free to bring friends.

Peace and bicycles,

Shannon Tracey
