NeurIPS Social: Value Chain from Research to ROI

Women in AI and Products By Women are conducting a socials at Neurips 2025, to be held in San Diego from Dec 4th, 19 00 - 21 00, Ballroom Sec 20D, San Diego Convention Center !
We seek to understand: how even more economic activity and impact can be derived by establishing pathways from applied research at higher TRLs to larger ecosystems consisting of products, businesses, communities of practices,etc. How can research be ready to accelerate into products/applied solutions? What environments, funding models, catalysts, actors, processes need to be in place in order to facilitate outcomes of research to better integrate and propel new ideas into societies, with safeguards? The event is structured to help researchers and stakeholders recognise, articulate, and harness their research’s broader potential, emphasizing ecosystem thinking and practical steps needed to scale research impact.
The socials will last for 2 hours, with the first hour being a panel discussion with senior research, technology, and product leaders from academia, major technology companies and industry labs addressing above questions, followed by group activity on possible sector-specific product ideas built on attendee’s own research, coached by mentors.
