Microsoft Research is searching for exceptional intern candidates in the area

of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, or a related field.  Working

closely with researchers from Microsoft for the duration of three months, you

will advance the state of the art in artificial intelligence by developing

novel models and algorithms.

Requirements

------------

You need to be enrolled in a PhD programme in a relevant field and be available

for a 12 week internship during 2017, typically over the summer months.

Deadlines

  * Application deadline: 8th January 2017

  * Internship starting date: Flexible, starting date within 2017

How to apply:

  1. Visit https://careers.research.microsoft.com/

  2. Choose "Apply" and provide all professional details, including the name

     of three references.

  3. Indicate that your research area of interest is in "Artificial

     Intelligence and Machine Learning" and select your location preference.

  4. If you know one or multiple researchers at Microsoft Research who work in

     your area, you can include these persons as a Microsoft Research contact

     so that they will be informed of your application.

  5. Ensure that you have successfully submitted the application.

  6. Follow up via email to MSR Researchers in your area.

The application should include a curriculum vitae (CV), summary of past

research (2 pages maximum), and two to three referees.

Reference letters can only be requested once the application has been

submitted and may be only requested for some candidates and some referees.

Let me follow up on Katja’s message to add that we also have internship openings at Microsoft Research NYC, and I’d encourage anyone who is interested to submit an application soon (ideally in the next week or two).  Be sure to list the researchers you are most interested in working with as “contacts” whether or not they know you as this will make sure they see your application.  And do follow up!
