Postdoc (m/f/d)
in the field of Perception, Imagination and Action 

 

The position is part of the externally funded Horizon Europe ERC Advanced Grant "STUFF" and is limited in the first instance to four years, at the Chair of Experimental Psychology, Department of Experimental Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology and Sport Science. The salary is in accordance with the collective labour agreement of the State of Hessen (E 13 TV-H). 

 

Your tasks at a glance 

  • Performing cutting edge research on how humans perceive, reason, imagine and act, especially regarding the physical properties of objects and materials 
  • Experimental and/or computational modelling of basic processes of the mind, bringing together a combination of psychophysics, machine learning, motion capture, robotics, computer graphics and/or brain imaging 
  • Working on the project, especially planning, implementing and executing research 
  • Data analysis 
  • Presenting the results at international conferences 
  • Writing publications 

 

Your qualifications and competences 

  • Completed Master’s or equivalent university degree and Doctorate in Psychology or a related discipline (e.g., Computer Sciences, Cognitive Science, Neurosciences, Biology, Engineering) 
  • Skills in Perceptual Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neurosciences, Machine Learning, Computer Graphics and/or Robotics 
  • Interest in fundamental research and experimental work 
  • Skills in Deep Learning and Computer Simulation are an advantage 
  • International experience is another advantage 
  • Excellent English skills
