Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers and Posters for the TAROS 2026 Conference (Towards Autonomous Robotic Systems), to be held on 7–9 September 2026 at the University of Manchester, UK, which this year has the endorsement of IEEE RAS.

TAROS is the longest-running UK-hosted international conference on robotics and autonomous systems, bringing together researchers and practitioners to present and discuss the latest advances in the field. 

Conference Themes and Topics
We invite submissions of original full papers and posters on all areas relevant to robotics and autonomous systems research, including but not limited to:
• Advanced materials and techniques
• Advanced sensors and actuators
• Aerial robots and unmanned vehicles
• Autonomous robots and vehicles
• Assistive, service and personal robotics
• Human-robot interaction and multimodal interfaces
• Modelling, navigation, localisation and path planning
• Bioinspired and hybrid robotic systems
• Safety, verification and validation
• Swarm, collective and field robotics
• Medical and intelligent prosthetics
…and other interdisciplinary topics with robotics applications. 

Submission Details
All submissions will undergo a rigorous peer-review process. Accepted papers and posters will be published in the official conference proceedings by IEEE

Important Dates

Full Papers
• Paper submission deadline: 10 April 2026
• Notification of acceptance: 2 June 2026
• Final (camera-ready) paper submission: 16 June 2026
Posters
• Poster abstract deadline: 19 May 2026
• Poster notification: 11 July 2026
• Final poster submission: 1 August 2026
