The University of Chicago is hosting its second annual
Rising Stars in Data Science workshop this fall, which is an opportunity for final-year PhDs and postdocs to present their research, network with UChicago data science faculty, and receive mentorship about how to navigate a career in data science.
The Rising Stars workshop focuses on celebrating and fast-tracking the careers of exceptional data scientists before they transition to postdoctoral scholar, research scientist, industry research position, or tenure track position. During the workshop, PhD students and postdocs will have a chance to present their research, and engage in networking and mentoring with faculty from the innovative, interdisciplinary UChicago data science ecosystem. The application is available for full-time PhD students within 1-2 years from graduating or current postdocs who are engaging in data science research. Women and historically underrepresented minorities in computing are especially encouraged to apply. Links to the application and other relevant information – including registration for a virtual information session tomorrow September 24th – are posted below, please feel free to reach out with any questions.
