Dear All,

We are conducting a research survey for the African NLP space, focused on data translation and validation experiences. We seek to understand how translators exercise judgment, creativity, and cultural expertise in making subjective decisions, while also capturing validators' experiences in ensuring dataset quality through their interactions with AI and human translations. This is intended to identify any emotional or technical tensions between both roles and how their collaborative pipeline could be improved.

So if you have ever participated in dataset translation or validation work, we would greatly appreciate your input.

Please choose the form below that applies to you:

African Dataset Translators: https://forms.gle/UoANJoMmMCPeLsJE8

African Dataset Validators: https://forms.gle/wiyixkqx2mgZioCF7

If you've done both, completing both forms is very welcomed.

Estimated time: 5 minutes per form
Deadline: December 19th, 2024
Use of findings: Results will be published to improve collaboration and processes within translation pipelines for African languages.

Thank you.

Kind regards,
Sharon Ibejih
