The organizing committee of the 2018 Southern Data Science Conference is pleased to invite you to submit a proposal to present a poster in the Research Track which is sponsored by the National Consortium for Data Science (NCDS) in Atlanta, GA. The conference is scheduled for April 13 and 14th 2018. Poster presenters will be required to attend the Poster Session at a specified time to discuss the work with conference attendees. The topics for the poster session encompass all of data science, including but not limited to:
Data Extraction
Feature extraction and preprocessing
Text mining
Pattern recognition
Machine learning
Supervised and unsupervised learning
Deep learning and neural networks
Model evaluation and interpretation
Privacy/Security
Cyberinfrastructure and secure computing
Privacy-preserving analytics
Security/Privacy challenges and potential solutions
Applications
Case study of the application of a technique to solve a problem
Lessons learned for a domain-specific application
Works in progress
The poster session is similar to a storyboard, using a combination of graphics and text to tell a story about a specific data science question and inform the attendees of the work. The poster session allows the presenter to interact with interested parties in a casual setting to share information and ideas.
Selected poster presenters will receive:
Professional visibility.
Access to industry practitioners and experts in the area for either recruitment or collaboration.
FREE conference admission.
