[AI safety research programme] LASR Labs: Apply by Oct 27th

Hi all, 

LASR Labs is a 13-week, full time, paid (£11k) research programme for people interested in careers in technical AI safety. The application deadline is October 27th.

Participants will write a paper as part of a small team with supervision from an experienced researcher. Past alumni have gone on to Open AI dangerous capability evals team, UK AI Safety Institute or continued working with their supervisors. 4 out of 5 groups in 2023 had papers accepted to workshops (NeurIPS) or conferences (ICLR). The programme is based in the LISA office in London, along with AI Safety organisations including Apollo Research, Bluedot Impact and MATS extension programme.

We’re looking for candidates with ~2 years experience in relevant postgraduate programmes or industry roles (Physics, Math or CS PhD, Software engineering, Machine learning, etc). You might be a good fit if you’re excited about:
- Producing empirical work, in an academic style
- Working closely in a small team
