We have two new opportunities at TU Wien for you to join our growing Machine Learning research unit. Vienna has repeatedly earned the title as the most liveable city in the world and the computer science faculty of TU Wien consistently ranks among the top 100 departments in the world.

Both positions associated with different doctoral colleges: 

• DC on Computational Sustainability (apply here, deadline December 4, 2025)
  While machine learning and artificial intelligence algorithms are becoming better and their use is becoming more wide-spread, our environment suffers from the enormous energy consumed in data centres around the world for training them. This PhD position will take a fresh look at deep neural networks to reduce energy consumption and carbon emission.
• DC on Automated Reasoning (apply here, deadline November 27th, 2025) 
  This PhD position will investigate probabilistic testing, verification, and certification theoretically as well as in real-world practical contexts OR devise machine learning algorithms such as a novel type of or training algorithm for deep neural networks which are able to interactively incorporate automatically derived or human given domain rules.
