Greetings,
We invite researchers, clinicians, policymakers, students, practitioners, and builders to join us at Brown University for a 3-day symposium exploring Machine Learning (ML) through a justice-oriented lens — with particular focus on healthcare, education, and public policy. At this symposium, we focus on the need to help remove barriers as a means of full participation in these high-stakes contexts, but welcome applications in other areas.
This symposium brings together bold ideas, interdisciplinary collaboration, interactive workshops, research talks, and a 24-Hour Hack 4 Justice focused on building ML systems that do more than just optimize fairness.
We welcome submissions for oral presentations, student lightning talks, and hackathon participation from undergraduate, master's, and PhD students. Whether you are a coder, theorist, designer, clinician, policymaker, or community-centered researcher, there is a place for you!
Registration and submissions are now open!
Speakers are required to submit abstracts on OpenReview.
Submission Start Date: 21 May 2026, 8:00 am EST
Submission Deadline: 30 Jun 2026, 11:59 pm EST
