Dear all,
We are excited to announce the ECCV 2026 workshop "World Models in the Loop: Towards Application-Driven World Model Evaluation", taking place on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in Malmö.
As world models are increasingly used in-the-loop for planning, simulation, and training or evaluating downstream policies, evaluating them purely through open-loop visual quality metrics is becoming insufficient. Our workshop aims to bring together researchers working on world models, embodied AI, robotics, autonomous driving, video generation, and related areas to discuss how world models should be evaluated from an application-driven perspective.
Our Call for Papers is now open, with a submission deadline of August 14, 2026. All accepted papers will be presented during the workshop poster session.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Evaluation of world models under interventions and distribution shifts
Controllability, physical plausibility, and robustness of world models
World models for planning, simulation, and downstream policy learning
Evaluation protocols and benchmarks for world models
Systematic failure modes when world models are embedded in downstream systems
Insights from evaluation that can inform world model training and design
We are also delighted to host invited talks from Vincent Sitzmann, Laura Leal-Taixé, Amir Bar, Carl Doersch, and Ranjay Krishna, followed by a panel discussion.
Submission deadline: August 14, 2026 Decisions: Rolling basis, within one week of submission Workshop: September 8, 2026 at ECCV 2026, Malmö
