Call for Papers: MFM4Health Workshop at BMVC 2026

We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for MFM4Health: Multimodal Foundation Models for Healthcare: Methods and Applications, a workshop co-located with The 37th British Machine Vision Conference BMVC 2026.

Date: 26 November 2026

Venue: Lancaster Town Hall, Lancaster, UK

Overview:

MFM4Health brings together researchers at the frontier of multimodal foundation models and healthcare, focusing on methods integrating imaging, video, clinical text, and wearables to tackle high-impact clinical challenges - from surgical video understanding and procedural assessment to risk prediction, patient monitoring, and social care for ageing populations.

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

- Multimodal Foundation Models for Healthcare

- Vision-Language and Large Language Models for Clinical Applications

- Multimodal Learning from Medical Imaging, Biosignals, Wearables, EHRs, and Genomics

- Self-Supervised, Few-Shot, and Zero-Shot Learning for Clinical AI

- Foundation Models for Medical Image and Video Understanding

- Multimodal Temporal Reasoning and Longitudinal Patient Modelling

- Efficient, Privacy-Preserving, and Federated Foundation Models for Healthcare

- Trustworthy, Explainable, and Responsible Multimodal AI for Clinical Decision Support

Important dates:

• Paper submission deadline: 16 August 2026

• Acceptance notification: 1 September 2026

• Workshop: 26 November 2026

We welcome Program Committee members from diverse backgrounds. Please complete the Call for Reviewers form to apply. 

Submission:

We welcome papers of up to 14 pages, including figures and tables, using the BMVC template. Submissions will be double-blind peer reviewed and must be submitted as a single PDF via CMT: https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/mfmforhealth2026 

All accepted papers will be part of the official BMVC Workshop proceedings. Attendees must register at BMVC 2026 to attend the workshop and present their work.
