The Department of Computer and Information Science in the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Konstanz seeks to fill a Full Professorship in Machine Learning (W3) by October 1, 2026 or by agreement. Application deadline is end of January.
Successful candidates should be internationally recognized in at least one current research area of machine learning and have a focus on methods and theoretical principles, while ideally engaging in interdisciplinary research with applications in economics, political science, psychology, or sociology.
The holder of the position takes a leading role in the interdisciplinary Master's programme in Social and Economic Data Science (SEDS). Candidates should also connect to the main research areas of our department. Contributions to and integration with the department’s interdisciplinary initiatives, such as the new collaborative research centre (SFB 1760) “Silence, Noise and Signal in Language”, are highly desirable.
