Waymack is a fairly rare spelling of Womack. In 1930, ancestry has
226 people in the US with the Waymack name, with the vast majority in
Virginia, Illinois, and Arkansas.

I assume Waymack is pronounced Way-mack.

The Illinois Waymacks come from Buckner Womack/Waymack and his
descendants in McDonough and Schuyler Cos, IL.

The Arkansas Waymacks come from Frederick Womack/Waymack, who moved
from Prince George Co, VA to Ohio, and then to Arkansas.

The Virginia Waymacks are from the area around the cities of Richmond
and Petersburg (Independent Cities in VA), including the counties of
Henrico, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Prince George, and Charles City.

The Waymack spelling did not exist before 1830. In Virginia, several
Womack lines started spelling the name Waymack between 1850 and 1870.
In fact, on the various public trees on ancestry, I see several people
who cannot get their Waymack ancestors back farther than 1870 or so
because they don't know the name changed from Womack!

There are descendants of Abraham, Richard, and John who spell the name
Waymack.
