The 1805 GA Land lottery mentions a drawing for "orphans of Oliver
Spradling". An "Oliver Spadlin" witnessed a Rev War pay voucher for
Thomas Womack in Burke Co, NC.

William Spradling witnessed two deeds for Robert & Martha Beene in
Franklin Co, GA. Some Spradling researchers have him as born 1770,
son of John Spradling and Mary Oliver (?). I think Mary Oliver was
actually Mary Womack, dau of Abraham Womack, son of Thomas Womack &
Mary Farley. However, William may have been the son of Oliver
Spradling, and thus grandson of John Spradling & Mary Womack. Another
supposed son of John Spradling and Mary "Oliver" was John Spradling, a
Rev war vet who died iin Warren Co, TN. His pension states he was
born 1748 in Amelia Co, VA, where he lived about 17 years before
moving to Halifax Co, VA. The Spradlings and Cawthorns were near the
Womacks in early Amelia Co, VA tax lists.

The Bean/Beene, Walters, and McBee families were all from Halifax/
Pittsylvania Cos, VA. Isham Womack (whom I believe to be the father
of Martha Womack Beene) was also in Halifax, living next to Charles
Cawthorn and his wife, Elizabeth Womack.

I found a court order from 1755-1758 in Halifax Co, VA mentioning
Charles Cawthon, Isham Womack, and Moses Spradling.

Thomas Womack and John Spradling were witnesses at a bastardy case in
Burke Co, NC concerning William Wofford and Lucia Spradling. The
apparent child of this was William Washington Wofford, see his
WorldConnect entry.
